State Park Beaches in Muskegon

Duck Lake State Park

You’ll find more than 700 acres of sand dunes, forests, meadows and Lake Michigan beach at this popular Michigan state park.  This day-use-only state park in Whitehall stretches from Duck Lake to Lake Michigan. You’ll find space to stretch out, ADA-accessible hiking paths along the Duck Lake shoreline, as well as a sandy beach along Duck Lake for swimming.  

Pets are allowed along the entire length of the Lake Michigan shoreline (.5 miles) and Duck Lake. Pets must always be on a 6-foot leash and under an owner’s immediate control.

Muskegon State Park

Meinert County Park

The campground, just a short walk from Lake Michigan’s shores, provides full hookups for a cozy camping experience. Adventurers can hike to the top of the parabolic dune for stunning panoramic views of Lake Michigan sunsets and the surrounding countryside.

For a comfortable stay, the park offers a modern rental cottage with three bedrooms, a kitchen, and a full bathroom, accommodating up to six people. Meinert Park’s day use area features a picnic shelter with seating for about forty people, complete with picnic tables, electrical outlets, and a grill. It’s the perfect spot for a leisurely gathering amidst nature’s beauty, with easy access to Lake Michigan beach amenities.
