Started all the way back in 1919, the Ann Arbor Farmers Market is bursting at the seams, as any city market should, with over 100 vendors at each market. The vendors here offer farm-fresh foods, in-season Michigan produce, prepared foods, leather crafts, woodwork, and much, much more.
In the wake of Covid-19, they’ve even begun offering curbside capabilities, meaning you can order anything you’d get at the Market on their market online and, instead of getting out of your vehicle they bring the product to you.
Onsite parking for the Detroit St. location makes getting to the market as easy as homemade pie (something you can no doubt pick up at the market once you get inside).

This southeast Michigan market runs every Sunday through October, with more than 70 booths of homegrown goodies.

It’s one of the biggest outdoor open-air markets in the country, and a true celebration of Michigan’s deep farm roots (pun intended).

Eastern Market located on Russell Street in Detroit Michigan is the place to be Tuesdays and Sundays through September. Saturdays turn into a Winter farmers Market past December. Bridge Card, and a smiling face.

Started in 1905, this market is located on East 1st street and offers a wide variety of activities, local food, local beer, and local event space. Open Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday year-round, you can’t miss it, even if you tried. Bridge Cards are welcome, as well as the purchase of gift cards for friends and family. They even have restaurants for good food, good people, and good times.

We’ve known folks who have planned a few entire weekend getaways around a visit to this Saturday market at the tip of Michigan’s thumb region (we’re not naming names).
As one of the most popular farmers in the state, the Port Austin Farmers Market does not disappoint. The Michigan Thumb landscape is dotted with farm after farm, and you’ll find their bounty, along with many other homespun goodies here.
With more than 50 vendors weekly, you can spend hours wandering the aisles of produce, baked goods, flowers, antiques, art and crafts and more.
All of this is with a sparkling blue Saginaw Bay in the background…pure Michigan farmers market perfection.

Located on West 8th Street in downtown Holland, this must-visit Farmers Market hosts up to 100 Vendors each week. In regular, non-Covid years, Holland Farmers Market also hosts live street performers to play jaunty tunes as customers shop their many exceptional vendors.
If you’re someone who enjoys a good street performance, then don’t miss the Holland Fall Fest on October 8th and 9th. Not only will there be music, but some of the best pumpkin carvers, pumpkin painting, hayrides, and more to help put you in the fall spirit.
The Holland Farmers Market accepts Bridge Cards, and you can give your friends and family the gift of farm-fresh, locally sourced produce with the Holland Market Bucks (i.e. gift card). Don’t forget to stop by the Beer City Dog Biscuits tent to pick your furry friend up a yummy treat.

The perfect place for kids and adults alike, the Muskegon Farmers Market hosts two clubs aimed at getting fresh, healthy produce into the hands (and stomachs) of local residents. The children’s “Power of Produce” club teaches kids the importance of shopping locally and healthily, and a second club for senior citizens does the same for this age group.
There’s a lot of good stuff going on at this west Michigan spot.
Not only does the Muskegon Farmers Market host these clubs to further the education and importance of these topics, but they also have a good, old-fashioned farmers market packed full of healthy and locally sourced Michigan foods.

Located on Spring St., this Market offers artisan bread, crafts, fresh produce, and other locally sourced goods. Every Thursday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m, a small number of vendors come to set up shop on a small plot of land just steps from a sparkling blue Lake Charlevoix. Crafters, farmers, bakers, beekeepers, and canners all make this plot of land their home for a few hours every Sunday selling their seasonal fresh goods.
Because this Market is during the week, it tends to have a smaller turn out. That doesn’t mean it’s not worth a visit, in fact, you’ll find some high-quality goods here. If visiting a less-crowded spot intrigues you, this may just be the market for you.
