Why I Love Visiting Pumpkin Patches in Michigan
There’s something about a crisp Michigan fall day that makes me want to spend it outdoors — wandering through a field of bright orange pumpkins, breathing in the scent of hay and cider, and watching families laugh as they climb onto wagons for a hayride.
I’ve found that every pumpkin patch has its own personality — some are small, family-run farms where the owners know every visitor by name; others are big, bustling destinations with corn mazes, farm markets, cider mills, and live music.
Whether you’re after a simple U-pick experience or an all-day fall festival, this list covers it all.

Pumpkin Patches in Southeast Michigan
Three Cedars Farm — Northville
7897 Six Mile Rd, Northville, MI 48168
If you want the classic Michigan pumpkin patch experience, start at Three Cedars Farm. It’s one of my favorites in Metro Detroit for its cheerful, old-fashioned vibe — think hayrides through the fields, a sprawling seven-acre corn maze, cider and donuts so good you’ll want to bring a dozen home.
There’s also a cute General Store full of nostalgic candy, a petting farm for the kids, and plenty of photo ops. For fall birthdays or get-togethers, you can even rent a private bonfire site.
“This is definitely the prettiest “cider mill”, pumpkin patch around. I put cider mill in quotes because they get pasteurized cider from elsewhere. Nevertheless, there is so much for little kids to do, a mini farm, train ride, etc. They also have a general store.”

DeBuck’s Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch — Belleville
50240 Martz Rd, Belleville, MI 48111
I love DeBuck’s because it feels like an entire fall carnival in one place. In addition to three giant corn mazes and a colorful U-pick pumpkin field, you’ll find a sunflower trail, wagon rides, and a grill house serving cider, kettle corn, and caramel apples.
Families love it for the extra kid-friendly fun — trike tracks, slides, bounce balls, and a “goat village.” You could easily spend an entire day here and still not do everything.

Pumpkin Patches in Mid-Michigan
The Wild Pumpkin — Beaverton
5799 Beaverton Rd, Beaverton, MI 48612
This family-run spot is pure fall fun. Picture a pumpkin patch surrounded by a petting zoo full of friendly animals (and yes, the goats love selfies). You’ll also find bounce houses, hayrides, and plenty of treats at the Wild Pumpkin— including caramel apple cider donuts that taste like fall in a bite.
It’s a perfect choice for families with kids who want a hands-on farm experience and space to run around.
The Howling Pumpkin — St. Helen

Pumpkin Patches in Northern Michigan
Fleming Farm Pumpkin Patch — Gaylord
4264 Martindale Rd, Gaylord, MI 49735
I adore Fleming Farms for its postcard-perfect setting. The pumpkin patch here is surrounded by rolling hills, and the farm offers hayrides, a corn maze, and a petting zoo. It’s a great way to experience fall color while picking your perfect pumpkin.
Coveyou Scenic Farm Market — Petoskey
4160 US-131, Petoskey, MI 49770
This historic family farm has been operating for more than 140 years and overlooks beautiful Walloon Lake. The pumpkins at Coveyou are sustainably grown, and you can also pick up local produce, flowers, and cider. The lake-view deck alone makes it worth a visit — it’s pure Northern Michigan magic.
Pond Hill Farm — Harbor Springs
5699 S Lake Shore Dr, Harbor Springs, MI 49740
Pond Hill is one of my all-time favorite fall destinations. From the pumpkin-smashing games to the Biergarten Tent and wood-fired pizza, there’s something for everyone. Kids love the giant slide and the barnyard animals, while adults appreciate the lake views and the wine tasting.
It’s the kind of place where you come for pumpkins and stay for the atmosphere.
“This place is awesome! Thousands of pumpkins, gorgeous hanging flower baskets, tons of kid friendly(adults too) activities, live music under a very expansive tent, food and beer, a nice farm shop to visit, and a trout pond with hungry finned critters(food provided).
If I lived in this area, it surely would be a frequent stop for me!”

3025 6 Mile Rd NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49544
This century-old farm is pure West Michigan charm. Every fall, Ed Dunneback & Girls transforms into a pink tractor paradise — complete with U-pick pumpkins, hayrides, cider, and donuts.
The family recently added a taproom and a restaurant, so you can pair your pumpkin picking with a glass of hard cider or lunch overlooking the apple orchard. Weekends bring live music and family fun passes that include everything from hayrides to giant slides.
Fruit Ridge Hayrides — Kent City
11160 Red Pine Dr NW, Kent City, MI 49330
Fruit Ridge is one of my top picks for a full fall day out — with a classic horse-drawn hayride, a giant corn maze, petting zoo, and apple picking all in one spot. It’s perfect for kids, but adults love it just as much.
Don’t miss the cider and homemade caramel apples before you head home.

For a true U.P. fall adventure, Getzloff’s is a must. Set on seven acres, this farm has a sprawling corn maze, hayrides, and a pumpkin patch that’s bursting with color. It’s a local favorite near Escanaba and perfect for anyone road-tripping through the U.P.
