Every fall, I make it a tradition to wander through at least one Michigan corn maze. There’s just something magical about crunching leaves underfoot, the smell of cider and donuts in the air, and the challenge of finding your way out of a maze carved into golden stalks of corn.

Why Visit A michigan Corn Maze?

Getting lost in a corn maze is one of the top fun family fall activities, and we’re sharing some our favorite spots to visit this season. The Michigan corn mazes are much more than a field of corn stalks, though: some are true works of art; carefully carved by farmers to share messages, logos, and fun designs.

There’s a lot to to do at these corn mazes, too. You’ll find amazing acres of corn fun, farm markets, cider and donuts, petting zoos, and more at these must-visit spots. You’ll also find a couple of haunted corn mazes for the brave-at-heart.

Best Corn Mazes in Northern Michigan

Jacobs Farm in Traverse City

This 10-acre maze sits on rolling farmland just west of Traverse City. Along with the maze, Jacobs Farm offers U-pick orchards, seasonal events, and a restaurant featuring local wines and brews.

Pro Tip: Try their Elote Con Chorizo (Mexican Street Corn) — it’s unforgettable!

The Wild Pumpkin in Beaverton

The Wild Pumpkin does not celebrate fall halfheartedly. This family favorite offers cider donuts, U-pick pumpkins, a petting zoo, and wagon rides. Their “Mighty Maize” is both challenging and fun.

Knaebe’s Apple Farm and Ciderworks in Rogers City

Knaebe’s is known for hard cider, wood-fired pizza, and a massive corn maze, and this corn maze north of Alpena and south of Cheboygan is one of my favorite “hidden gem” fall stops in Northern Michigan.

“We try to visit every year! We love the little playground and petting farm, my kids didn’t want to leave! We decided to get some cider and donuts and they were amazing. Donuts were the day olds and they still tasted very good. The ones with the dark glaze were our favorites! My mother in law lives nearby and we stopped by and offered her some donuts. She actually said no until we told her where we got them!”

Royal Farms Corn Maze – Ellsworth

The Royal Farms Corn Maze adds a fun twist to the traditional maze experience. Instead of simply wandering through the rows, guests are challenged to find all six hidden stations tucked into the 5-acre maze. Finish in 30 minutes or less, and you’ll win a prize!

This is a great spot for families, but adults can make it extra special by stopping at the Royal Farms tasting room before or after the maze. Their farm-fresh ciders and local wines make for the perfect fall treat.

Best Corn Mazes in West Michigan

Robinette’s Apple Haus and Winery

📍 3142 4 Mile Rd NE, Grand Rapids, MI
If you live anywhere near the west side of Michigan, chances are that you already know all about Robinette’s Apple Haus. This popular spot in Grand rapds swells with visitors once the autumn season rolls around, all seeking some fall fun and a tasty treat from the cider mill.

Their 6.5 acre corn maze is a must, though, with an intricate design that changes annually. In addition to the down maze, you’ll find a petting zoo, nature trails, a jumping pillow, U-pick orchards and much more.

Ed Dunneback and Girls Farm in Grand Rapids

A Grand Rapids tradition for 100+ years, this sprawling farm has been a big part of the local community, hosting barn dances and hay rides until it became a long-held tradition. A corn maze + taproom, U-Pick apple orchard, bakery, barn dances, and apple orchard make Dunneback’s a perfect fall day trip.

Crane Orchards Corn Maze

This 20-acre corn maze is one of the largest in Michigan. Located in middle of southwest Michigan near Saugatuck, Crane Orchards is one of the top family-fun attractions in Michigan come autumn. Don’t miss the cow train, hayrides, winery, and their famous Pie Pantry.

It’s set on some very scenic, rolling hills, and that adds to the experience. You can really feeling like you’re “getting away from it all,” just a short drive from Grand Rapids.

Fruit Ridge Hayrides in Grand Rapids

Don’t leave Kent County or the Grand Rapids, MI area just yet! First, you need to head over to Fruit Ridge Hayrides and discover what it means to really enjoy the fall season and start the new season off right!

There is a wonderful variety of things to do at Fruit Ridge, including the horse-drawn hayrides, the apple picking, the petting zoo, and the giant corn maze. It’s perfect if you’re looking for fall break activities. Plus, this is a fruit farm, so their farm market is out of this world.

Bethke Farms

You’ll find thousands of pumpkins – big and small – at Bethke Farms in Grand Haven, so there’s definitely one waiting to be picked by you.

The corn maze and pumpkin patch at Bethke Farms are just the beginning. You can explore the farm with a fun hayride or take an autumn walk along the path. There’s even a pirate ship play area for kids to enjoy. An added bonus? There are pets allowed at Bethke Farms, so you can bring your leashed dog to join in the fun.

Schwallier’s Country Basket Corn Maze and Back 40

Are you ready to lose yourself in the rustling cornstalks, under a striking fall sky? This fun corn maze can help you feel like you “got away” even if just for a little while.

Every year, Schwallier’s create a completely unique maze adventure based around a fun, educational theme. To get through the maze, you’ll have to answer questions by finding clues in the corn. Your admission ticket also gets you into the “Back 40,” a huge area in the back of the orchard that gives you wide open spaces to play and enjoy the outdoors. A giant John Deere combine climber is a kids’ dream to scale. A massive straw mountain, rock maze, and bouncy ball course are perfect for running off all that donut-fueled energy you or your kids may have.

The Giant Maize Quest Corn Maze at Harvest Moon Acres is more than just a walk through the corn — it’s a full-on adventure. As you wander the 5-acre maze, you’ll follow twisting pathways, collect picture rubbings, and answer fun trivia questions along the way.

One of my favorite times to visit is during Flashlight Nights, when the maze transforms into a mysterious after-dark challenge that’s perfect for families and groups.

Beyond the maze, Harvest Moon Acres is packed with classic fall fun: 🎃 pumpkins, hayrides, farm animals, campfires, and sweet concession treats. Kids will love the Fun Zone, which includes a cattle castle, saloon shootout, rubber duck races, a giant barnyard board game, and even zip lines. It’s one of those places where you can easily spend the whole day.

Mid Michigan Corn Mazes

Frankenmuth Corn Maze

Frankenmuth Corn Maze near Birch Run, Michigan, has one of the greatest corn mazes in Michigan. It’s not just wandering among the golden stalks – Frankenmuth makes their corn maze a treasure hunt, leading you through with fun mysteries to solve and tricky riddles to keep you guessing.

You can also enjoy courtyard games and the farm animals during your visit. Time your visit right and you’ll be able to spend some time exploring downtown Frankenmuth, also known as Michigan’s Little Bavaria.

Frankenmuth is one of Michigan’s most popular tourist attractions, and with good reason. From the downtown streets lined with cute shops to explore to the fabulous chicken dinners from the iconic Zehnder’s restaurant, Frankenmuth is a must-visit.

Grandma’s Pumpkin Patch in Midland

This top fall destination in Midland is home to a sprawling corn maze as well as tons of other fun activities including a combine slide, corn maze, hay ride and and petting farm.Visit the farm to meet a bunny, baby chicks, George the llama, and feed the goats. Uncle John’s Cider Mill and Corn Maze in St. Johns

Farmer Charley and his seven-acre corn maze that promises endless hours of fall fun. There’s a whole lot more to do here, too. You’ll find apple cannons, bonfires, a pumpkin patch, a giant jumping pillow, and more.

Three Cedars Farm in Northville

This cheery spot, not far from Maybury State Park hasa seven-acre corn maze, perfect for all ages. A perfect fall destination, you’ll find a sprawling pumpkin patch, as well as hayrides, cider, donuts, and caramel apples.

There’s a lot of entertain the kids, too, including a play area and a petting farm with cute animals. Pick up some treats and old-fashioned candy at the General Store. You can reserve a tent or barn for your party, or even a bonfire site if you want.

Long Family Orchard, Farm and Cider Mill in Commerce

When it comes to family farms and corn mazes, this Michigan fall market and pumpkins farm stands out as one of the best.

Located in Commerce Township, this farm makes every visitor feel welcome when they come for fresh sweet corn, pumpkin patches, and the corn maze. The Long Family’s orchard and cider mill isn’t afraid to bask in the golden fall glory.

Bonadeo Farms

Pick up a map at the country store here and head out into the maze of cornstalks towering above at eight to ten feet! There is a lot to do at this fun park in southeast Michigan. You’ll find cider, donuts, pumpkins, hayrides and more!

This family-operated farm just outside of Ann Arbor transforms a 15-acre field into into three separate corn mazes, which more than 5 miles of corn maze fun! You’ll also find cider and donuts, hayrides, pumpkin picking, and more.

If you’re up for some competition, this unique corn maze in the western Upper Peninsula is for you! This challenging maze has a brand-new design every year, and fans flock to figure it out when it opens for the season each September.

There’s more to do here, too. You can pick pumpkins, visit with live animals, take a hay ride out to the aple cannons and even participate in duck races!
