There are many great places to visit in Marshall, but one of the most popular spots in the city
has to be Cornwell’s Turkeyville.

Turkeyville is a fun and welcoming family-friendly restaurant that serves delicious homemade meals and treats made with real ingredients. Getting their start in 1968, they’ve since held onto their recipes passed down from generation to generation.

With great food, gifts, and several forms of entertainment, I’ve made a list of five reasons why Turkeyville is so popular with locals and visitors alike.

Cornwell’s Turkeyville Has the Best Food in Town

Since 1968, Cornwell’s Turkeyville has been committed to sharing their best homemade meals with their customers. It all started with “Grandma’s” (Marjorie Cornwell’s) cooking, and her recipes were then passed down through the next generations.

Still to this day, Turkeyville ensures that the food tastes “the way Grandma used to make.”

Of course, their specialty is turkey (which makes it a great place to go to grab a Thanksgiving meal to take home if you don’t have time to cook), but they also have many other delicious menu items. Some of these include sides like dinner rolls and mashed potatoes, salads, a variety of turkey sandwiches, pot pies, apple pies or other fruit pies, and much more. They also have vegetarian and gluten-free items.

Many Events are Hosted at Turkeyville USA

This place is more than just a restaurant—there are many other things going on here, including fun weekend events happening throughout the year. Many events are seasonal, such as the Easter Egg Hunt or the Halloween Haunted Adventure, but there are also things like flea markets, craft shows, antique shows, and harvest festivals.

They even host classes you can take, such as Christmas cookie decorating. If you’re planning a visit, make sure to check out their calendar of events on their website, so you don’t miss out on the fun!

Visit the Turkeyville Dinner Theatre

In fall of 1987, the Cornwells decided their guests needed “more than just a meal,” so they started a dinner theatre to entertain them so that they would stay longer and want to keep coming back. Now, the theatre hosts an average of 40,000 guests over the 47-week season.

Actors from all over the United States come to perform in a variety of shows for some fun family entertainment. Visit their dinner theatre webpage to see what amazing performances will be held during the time you decide to plan your trip.

Turkeyville Ice Cream Parlor and Gift Shop

When I say all of the food here is homemade, I mean all of it—even the ice cream and cones! Everything is made with the freshest and highest-quality ingredients.

A couple of delicious flavors they personally suggest are the butter pecan made with real buttered pecans, and the Turkey Trax, which is peanut butter ice cream with chocolate chips, peanut butter cups, chocolate syrup, and crushed peanuts. In addition to ice cream, they also have other tasty treats like fudge and caramel corn, also homemade.

While you’re visiting Turkeyville, consider checking out their gift shop, with various items such as sauces and jams, spices, quilts, liquor, coffee mugs, kids’ stuff, and other treats.

These all make great gifts for friends and loved ones, but there are also gift cards available for purchase, if you’d rather let the receiver choose what to get. Most items sold in-store are also available for online purchase.
