Just off the slopes at Boyne Mountain or enjoying the towns of Petoskey and Traverse City? Stop by Happy’s Taco Shop for mouth-watering tacos, burritos, and margaritas. Happy’s knows all the ways to do tacos, and they’re all good.

Our favorite? The crispy shrimp taco with grilled corn slaw and jalapeño jam; it’s simply inspired. Try their cheeseburger or smoked potato tacos, too, for a twist on a classic meal. Be sure to grab a Happy’s Taco Shop t-shirt, hat, or sticker on your way out!

Ketch 22 Kafe
Arcadia, MI

Ketch 22 Kafe is located along Michigan’s iconic M22 highway, that darts in and around the beautiful lakes of northeast Michigan. You’ll find this nautical-themed food trailer just north of the Arcadia Marsh trailhead on M22 in Arcadia, a pretty spot to relax and enjoy your food.

Known for their gourmet fish sandwiches and burgers, you’ll also find some tasty vegan offerings like Mushroom Pot Stickers and Pickled Garden Vegetables. There are lots of kid-friendly options, too.

You’ll find plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the views of the Arcadia Marsh and Nature Preserve, and if you’re lucky, some local live music!

Archies Food Truck

Everyone needs an Archies in their life. A Traverse City hot spot for both locals and tourists is pretty rare, but the delicious food served up here unites everyone.

Their sliders, Smoked Gouda Mac, and crispy Natural Cut Fries will be your new craving obsession. The friendly faces, and a menu-to-die for make Archies a must on your list of restaurants to stop by.

PRO-TIP: Archies is close to Clinch Park and other amazing Traverse City beaches. Pick up some food and head over to watch an amazing Michigan sunset over Grand Traverse Bay.

Taqueria Las Lagunas

This rolling Mexican restaurant is no mere taco truck: you’ll find some amazingly fresh food here on the shores of Grand Traverse Bay. Family-owned and operated, Taqueria Las Lagunas has a wide menu including chimichangas, nachos, quesadillas, and tacos, most featuring their signature marinated meats.

Follow their Facebook page for hours of operation. Here’s a tip: if you decide to go, get there early. Taqueria Las Lagunas has developed quite of following with people regularly driving to Suttons Bay from Traverse City and surrounding towns just to try their popular fish tacos and more.

This open-air bar with food trucks in downtown Traverse City features a wide variety of food including American traditional, pizza, barbecue and more. The food is fabulous, but what’s even better is that you can bring your pup with you on the patio: it’s dog-friendly!

It’s a laid-back and friendly ambiance, and the variety of food choices make it easy to satisfy even the pickiest members of your party.

How about a Nutella Fruit Crepe with a side of Lake Michigan? This Grand Rapids and Grand Haven-based food truck serves up some amazing crepes, most usually from a prime location on Chinook Pier in Grand Haven.

You’ll find a unique mix of both weet and savory crepes made fresh; don’t miss the Cubana Crepe featuring slow-roasted pulled pork; ham, Swiss cheese and Dill pickles. Yes, please.

Lazy Man Bar-B-Que
6406 W W Ave, Schoolcraft, MI 49087

One of my favorite stops in west Michigan is this food truck serving up delicious wood-smoked barbeque, and I’m not alone. Lazy Man Barbque in southwest Michigan has developed a huge following of fans who crave this slow-smoked barbecue.

Their pulled pork nachos and smoked chicken mac and cheese are crazy-good. You’ll find them at events in Bronson Park in Kalamazoo MI, as well as in their regular spot (US-131 and U Ave. South of Portage and north of Schoolcraft).

They’re easy to spot in their fun log cabin trailer!

Scotts Pig Roast

Here’s a tip: if you’re in west or southwest Michigan, keep your eyes peeled Scott’s signature yellow food truck.

You’ll find Memphis Style BBQ, lightly smoked and seasoned, at this roaming restaurant in southwest Michigan. Scotts Pig Roast has a massive menu with everything from prime rib and beef brisket to lasagna and meatballs. Scotts also offers homemade desserts like brownies and banana pudding.

An old school bus converted into a roaming restaurant, you’ll find the Burger Bus in Marquette, MI. Youll find fresh, juicy hamburgers and my favorite, a chicken breast sandwhich with garlic aioli and pickled red onion.

The Burger Bus can be found at several popular locations in Marquette, including local breweries like Ore Dock Brewing Company and Black Rocks Brewing. If you decide to go, get there early: they are very popular!

Cap’n Rons Fish and Chips

If you haven’t tried fish fresh from the Great Lakes, you don’t know what you’re missing. If you want to try some of the best, head north to Munising, where you’ll find Cap’n Rons.

Set on the shores of Lake Superior near Picture Rocks National Lakeshore. Cap’n Rons Fish and Chips is part of Matsons Fisheries, an Upper Peninsula fish market that has been operating for more then 100 years. Not only will you find some of the best fish and chips in the state, you’ll also find favorites like the smoked fish dip, served with pita chips.
