Blueberry Picking Michigan: Best U-Pick Blueberry Farms in Michigan (Blueberry Festivals, too)

It’s blueberry season in Michigan, and that means it time to go blueberry picking Michigan style!

Craving a few blueberries or maybe a whole basket?

You’re in luck: Michigan is home to many blueberry picking farms that simply buzz with activity during blueberry picking season. Heading to one of Michigan’s amazing blueberry farms and their acres of blueberry bushes is one of my favorite summer activities.

About Michigan’s U-Pick Blueberry Farms

Have you ever had a freshly-picked Michigan blueberry? The taste is a little different from the blueberries you’ll find in grocery stores. Fresh off the blueberry bush, they’re a little more deeply colored and the sweet flavor is intense. Blueberries are healthy, too. They are considered antioxidants, packed ull of potassium and Vitamin C, so you can pick and eat to your hearts content without feeling guilty.

Late July and August is the perfect time to take a fun trip and pick some fresh blueberries right when the farms open up. I can smell the blueberry pie now. Or blueberry muffins. Or a delicious fruity smoothie. All I can say is…yum.

Read on for our guide to the best spots to pick your own blueberries in Michigan. We’re also including some a fresh-picked blueberry market or two. Scroll to the bottom for an interactive map of all of the best places to pick bluerberries in Michigan.

PRO-TIP: Michigan’s rolling terrain is perfect for fruit farms offering U-pick fruits. In addition to blueberries, you can also go raspberry picking, cherry picking, strawberry picking, peach picking, and even apple picking at farms in Michigan.  When you travel Michigan, be sure and watch for signs for fruit picking farms.
